Photo 6x4 Ruin of old stone dwelling on moorland south of Ardnave Kilnave c2010

Photograph Notes: Remains of a small stone dwelling south of Ardnave in the shelter of the hills of Slèidmeall to the north and Mùirnemeall to the west (Mùirnemeall can be seen in the background to the right). This old building sits along an old path which went from Ardnave travelling southwesterly across the moorland towards the coast near Port na Luing where it may have linked to the old coastal path at Cladach Fionn (that leads to Sainaigmore farm). The path near this pictured ruin, which is now mostly overgrown and lost to the moor, would have been essential as this whole area can be very boggy and difficult to negotiate, providing awkward and sometimes dangerous walking conditions due to the numerous wet marshy areas; an example of this has been recorded by Mary and Angus Hogg at [[1779112]].
