Photograph Notes: The point where the trees almost meet is where there was a bridge to carry a contractor's (S Pearson & Son) single railway line from Martin Mill to a point 300 feet above Dover. The track was lifted in 1937 but relaid early in World War Two in order to erect and serve two massive clifftop guns
