Photograph Notes: A North British Railways 0-6-0 Class C locomotive Nr.673, built in Glasgow in 1891. A total of 168 locomotives of this class were built between 1888 and 1900 for long distance goods work. This one was commandeered in 1917 to pull supply trains on the Western Front where it was named the 'Maude' after a high-ranking general. Its latter days were spent at the Haymarket sheds in Edinburgh where it pulled 'Ferry goods' to South Queensferry.
